Local catering company bounces back with new menu and new premises
Whilst the recession continues to claim the last of its victims, Swansea-based outdoor catering company La Baguette du Jour reveals that it is very much alive and well after experiencing difficulties during the economic downturn.
With Managing Director Marlene Meadon at the helm, La Baguette du Jour is back with a brand new corporate, lunch and outside catering menu, all lovingly prepared from its new premises.
Marlene began La Baguette du Jour 21 years ago and since then the determined entrepreneur has lead her growing team to success establishing the catering firm as a vital part of South Wales’ buffet catering network. Marlene herself has won a number of accolades, including ‘Welsh Woman of the Yea’, for her achievements and continues to use her strong work ethic to propel the business further forward.
“The recession brought a series of challenges for La Baguette du Jour, however, thanks to our hardworking team and long standing reputation within the area we have triumphed over adversity to re-launch with a new outside delivery service options,” said Marlene.
From humble beginnings Marlene has become a prominent business woman on Wales’ catering scene, and as a result La Baguette du Jour has won a series of prestigious awards such as ‘Sandwich Bar of the Year’ and ‘Small Business of the Year’. La Baguette du Jour’s first outlet opened back in 1993, however, as the market changed the bespoke catering company changed its focus to provide its delicious homemade cold food to corporate and special events.
Marlene added: “The new menu features a wider range of delectable takeaway and buffet items creating the perfect recipe for special events and corporate gatherings. Our team also provide a sensitive service for funerals. Whatever the occasion, we aim to take the hassle out of serving great food, and meet all dietary requirements with our tailor-made approach.”
